Unboxing: WETA Workshop Mini Epics Ghostbusters Set
It’s time for some paranormal activity as I unbox the set of Ghostbusters Mini Epic figures from Weta Workshops. Today we will be looking at 5 pieces from this series including all 4 Ghostbuster characters & the lovable green-guy Slimer. At $50 each these are priced a bit higher than other similar type figures but let’s get to the unboxing and see if they are worth it.
From Weta: This cast of miniaturized characters was created by Weta Workshop’s collectibles team, a dedicated crew of artists, technicians, craftspeople, and producers, all relishing the chance to distil oodles of personality into an EPIC package.
The results speak for themselves. That knowing sparkle in those eyes – you didn’t think it got there by accident, do you? Tilt your head a little to the left and you might just catch a wink.
First up we have Ray Stanz with a classic scared and bewildered look on his face, very fitting to the character from the films. Nice details here with the goggles & trap.
Endlessly collectible. Totally adorable. These pint-sized figures have BIG personalities.
At 8 inches tall, each figure is very well detailed and made with a fantastic comic style look. The build quality gives a great representation of the characters with all the nuances you would expect down to facial expressions & suit details fitting to the character. The paint jobs are also spot on, no rough edges or overlapping colors, these have been made with care.
Next up we have Peter Venkman played by the brilliant Bill Murray. Again, fitting to the character, he seems ready to bust some ghosts with a smirk on his face and wand ready to blast.
I love the poses each is set in as it emotes the characters from the films. You can also jump right into a scene with each of them reacting as you would expect after a ghostly encounter.
Up next we have Egon Spangler with PKE meter in hand. All of these really have such great cartoon details really setting them apart from other GB figures.
More from Weta: When new York turns to spook town and paranormal activity strikes, only a select few can save the city. Ghostbusters! Weta Workshop took care to recreate these heroes as mini epics, to serve all your supernatural elimination needs. Who ain’t afraid of No Ghost?
The final Ghosbuster is up next with Winston Zeddemor. He definitely aint’ afraid of no ghost.
Super-stylised and ultra-expressive, this new Cast of characters was created by Weta Workshop collectibles team, A dedicated crew of artists, technicians, craftspeople, and producers, all relishing the chance to distill oodles of personality into a small epic package. The results speak for themselves. That knowing sparkle in those eyes – you didn’t think it got there by accident, do you? Tilt your head a little to the left and you might just catch a wink. Endlessly collectible. Totally adorable.
Moving on to the last piece we have everyone’s favorite slimy green paranormal Slimer. This has the best details of the set with an awesome pose as we see Slimer devour a plate of spaghettis.
Overall this is one of my favorite Ghostbuster sets in recent time. The cartoon/comic style of the figures, facial and body expressions, and the great paint/colors really bring these to life and put you in the mood to bust some ghosts!
